Become a Spiritual Prayer Intercessor for an assigned priest within the Diocese of Little Rock!
Mission Statement
An invitation for lay people (individual, family, or groups) in the Diocese of Little Rock, inspired by the Holy Spirit, to serve as a Spiritual Prayer Intercessor for an assigned priest. Participants are encouraged to commit to a period of one year (or longer) to spiritually intercede on behalf of their assigned priest through daily prayer and offering sacrifices. The goal, through prayer and sacrifice, is to support the priest’s holiness, well-being, and the fruitfulness of their ministry.
The Role of a Spiritual Prayer Intercessor for a Priest
Throughout Church history, saints like St. Therese of Lisieux, St. Catherine of Siena, St. Padre Pio, St. John Vianney, St. Teresa of Avila have been devoted intercessors for priests.
A Spiritual Prayer Intercessor for a Priest follows these saints' example by committing to lift up their assigned priest through prayer and sacrifice for at least one year asking the Holy Spirit to guide them in praying for the holiness, protection and fruitfulness of the priest’s ministry.
This calling is a special gift. Never underestimate the power of prayer–every offering, no matter how small, is significant in the eyes of God.
Commitments of a Spiritual Prayer Intercessor for a Priest
For one year (or more), the Spiritual Prayer Intercessor commits to one or more of the following:

Special Note to Spiritual Prayer Intercessors: If your assigned priest has consented to receiving limited correspondence from their Spiritual Prayer Intercessor, an appropriate contact address will be provided to you from the DOLR website through the Marian Captain. Consider sending a greeting card with scripture or a spiritual bouquet card for special occasions such as birthday, or ordination anniversary.
There is no penalty for not fulfilling these practices—it is a personal commitment made to the best of one’s ability and resources.
